Where things sit in their own history

Nine rates and asset classes, each ranked against nothing but its own record: where does today's reading fall against its own trailing 10 years? This counts and ranks only — it says nothing about why a series is where it is, and nothing about what to do about it.

The rule

For each series in a written list, we take the latest published observation and compute its percentile within that series' own trailing 10-year window — the share of that window's OTHER readings that sit strictly below it, the reading itself excluded from its own comparison pool. A series needs at least 8 complete calendar years of span and at least 100 observations in that window to be ranked; short of either, it is excluded and the reason is stated rather than the series being quietly dropped.

Distance is the percentile minus 50. Rows are ordered by the size of that distance, largest first, ties broken by series id — a reading near either extreme of its own record ranks ahead of one sitting near its middle, whichever direction it moved to get there. The side (above or below its own median) is carried by a symbol and a word together, never by colour alone.

This is enumeration, not attribution: the table counts and ranks, and says nothing about why any series is where it is, or what a reader should do about it. The full rule, with a recompute button, is entry cross-asset-rank in the claims ledger.

Every value above is the latest record for its date, not a point-in-time reconstruction — a percentile computed here for a past date would use that date's value as it reads today, revisions included. Source figures may later be revised by the agency or exchange that publishes them.
